Through its new presentation, the Pinacothèque de Paris offers an new vision of the History of Arts and founds the first museum whose display is based on transversality.

Thanks to private collector's loans, the Pinacothèque de Paris displays on 800 square meters, a collection of masterpieces. The artists range from Van Dyck, Botticelli and Coeck d’Alost to modern and contemporary artists such as Modigliani, Picasso Warhol, Fontana, Arnal and Chu Teh-Chun.

Those paintings, come from diverse countries to the Pinacothèque. The Collection is not fixed, it is displayed through scheduled and original installations.

Marc Restellini, a gifted art historian, keeps in mind the famous words of Malraux – « The museum must not become a cemetery » - and outlines his point of view through the presentation of these exceptional works. He parts from traditional classifications by dates or movements in order to favour transverse themes. He offers the public his personal imaginary museum and turns the Pinacothèque de Paris into a cabinet of wonder, of curiosity, which was, during the Renaissance, an intimate space and the precious lair of collector's passion.
